Description: A tall, spreading and bushy shrub valued for its very showy red flowers in spring followed by bright red berries; can grow quite leggy and should be underplanted with lower-growing shrubs; resistant to aphid troubles that plague the species.

Ornamental Features: Stunning cherry red flowers with yellow. Green foliage throughout the season. It features an abundance of magnificent red berries from mid to late summer.

Landscape Attributes: Dense multi-stemmed deciduous shrub. Best pruned in late winter. It is a good choice for attracting birds, butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard.

(Trees, Shrubs and Perennials labelled Zone 2 or 3 are consistently hardy enough to survive in Calgary, Okotoks and surrounding areas)
