Description: A large coniferous tree with a straight trunk, and pyramidal form when young, becoming more broad and irregular with age. It has dark green needles and furrowed bark ranging from dark grey to dark brown or even black. A stunning specimen tree.
Ornamental Features: Needles are dark green, stiff, and in bundles of two, 3″ – 6″ long. Cones are brown and woody and borne in clusters of 1 to 4.
Landscape Attributes: Dense, evergreen tree with a strong central leader. Low maintenance, deer resistant, and drought tolerant once established.
