ountryside Landscaping began in May of 1992 with 3 staff.

By 1996 we began tree and shrub production and our shelterbelt pre-order program.  This led to the opening of Countryside Garden Center in 1998 in the hamlet of  Dewinton (link to a map).   Our initial idea was to provide plant material that was of higher quality than we were finding for our landscape clients.

Today we grow over 50,000 potted trees and shrubs and over 20,000 caliper trees.  Although our primary focus is still landscaping, our garden center and nursery production has grown to become 40% of our business.

Over the last decade we have grown to over 40 staff while our top priority has remained quality and craftsmanship.  This has brought us many awards over the last few years including being recognized by the Canadian Nursery & Landscape Association as one of the top landscape design and construction companies in Canada in 2004.

We have also won many local awards and have been voted #1 Landscape company in Alberta in 2003 and 2005.  We believe that part of our success has been due to our amazing staff.  In projects from Creston B.C.  all the way north to Fort MacMurray  our customers are delighted by our professional and diligent crews.  We are proud to say that our turn over has been less than 5% over the last 10 years in both Landscaping and Nursery production.  Our staff  are graduates of  Olds College and Guelph University.

Our landscape division consists of six specialized sections that includes three construction crews.  Each crew has a specialty.  From water features, carpentry and masonry to patios and plant material.  Each crew also has specific equipment depending on the type and size of project that they are working on.  To compliment our Landscape Division we offer a landscape design/consulting service to our clients.

At our nursery we specialize in growing prairie hardy trees, shrubs, evergreens and perennials for our landscape division and to sell in the garden center.

Our Garden Center division provides unique plant material from perennials and annuals to large shrubs, caliper trees.  We have a great selection of custom Annual planters and you should see the giftware and pottery displays.
